Amy Ferguson started her musical career as a boisterous 2 year old who’s only dream was to sing and be heard! In her later years, at the age of 4, her sweet and wise mother (Mama Laura) decided to develop her musical ability and her ear by providing her with violin lessons. Amy played the violin for 15 years, in which time she played in the top orchestras in California and Washington as well as playing with an international orchestra that choose the top musicians from 6 countries. After going to college on a violin scholarship, Amy re-realized her passion for singing. After 15 years, 800 lessons and 19,380 hours of practice (phew…), Amy gave up the violin and went on to graduate with a Degree in Vocal Performance from Cornish College of the Arts. Since then she has enjoyed living her passion by performing in original bands (1994-1999), singing and dancing on the Spirit of Puget Sound (1996-2000) leading worship teams at multiple churches (1994-2002) and performing in some of the top local cover bands (2000-present) Amy was planning on moving to New York after auditioning and taking a job with a national cruise line on September 10, 2001 when the world as well as her world changed. It was at this time that Amy decided that she could pursue her passion and be close to those she loved here in Seattle. That decision allowed her to meet her closest friend James, while singing together in a local cover band. It was James, along with many other family and friends that were there for Amy in 2004 when she was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. With a smile on her face Amy went through 6 months of chemotherapy, numerous surgeries and some great wigs. Amy is so thankful to share her passion in music and life with
you. Amy and James wish to introduce to you their dream…ONCORE!!! |
